# eSIM for Warsaw

For a Warsaw trip, a Poland eSIM covers the capital and any day trip inside the country. Most visits last around three days, so a short plan is enough. Install it at home before you fly, then switch it on when you land at Warsaw Chopin Airport or at Modlin.

Plans for Poland cover the whole country, including Warsaw.

## Arriving in Warsaw
Most flights land at Warsaw Chopin Airport, on the southern side of the city. From there the SKM commuter trains and Koleje Mazowieckie trains run to Warszawa Centralna, the main station, and bus line 175 goes to the Old Town area by way of the centre. Some low-cost flights use Modlin Airport, north of the city, which is linked by a shuttle bus and a train service to Warsaw.

Data on arrival helps you pick the right train or bus, and it lets you reach the app of your taxi or hotel straight away. Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi with the QR code from your order. After landing, switch the eSIM line on, turn on data roaming for that line, and turn off mobile data on your home SIM so it is not used by mistake.

## Getting around
The city transport authority is ZTM Warszawa. It runs two metro lines (M1 and M2), trams, buses and the SKM trains inside the city. Single tickets come from machines at stops and stations, and several mobile ticket apps sell the same fares. The Jakdojade journey planner is widely used by locals and shows live departures across all the modes.

Ride apps operate here too: Uber, Bolt and FREE NOW all cover Warsaw. Veturilo is the public bike share, with docking stations around the centre and along the river. Walking between the Old Town and the Royal Route is easy, but the city is spread out, and a trip between districts is usually quicker by tram or metro.

## Where you'll use data
Visitors spend most of their time in the rebuilt Old Town and along the Royal Route, which runs south past the Presidential Palace and the University to Lazienki Park. The Palace of Culture and Science, the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, the Warsaw Rising Museum, and the Praga district across the Vistula are other common stops. Opening hours and timed tickets for museums are often handled online.

Day trips stay inside Poland, so the same plan works. Wilanow Palace sits within the city limits, Zelazowa Wola, the birthplace of Chopin, is a short ride west, and Lodz and Torun are reachable by train. A trip to another country, such as Vilnius in Lithuania or Berlin in Germany, would not be covered by a Poland plan there. A Europe plan can cover several countries, but check its country list on our Europe page, since regional plans can leave some out.

## Common questions

### Will the eSIM work as soon as I land at Warsaw Chopin Airport?
Yes, if you installed it before your flight. Switch the eSIM line on, enable data roaming for it, and wait a short while for it to register. If it does not connect, toggle airplane mode and check that mobile data points at the eSIM line.

### How much data do I need for three days in Warsaw?
About 2 GB for normal use: maps, tickets, messages and a few photos. If you stream video or make many video calls, plan for 1.5 GB a day, so around 4.5 GB for three days. The plan list on this page shows an estimate for each option.

### Can I buy a public transport ticket on my phone?
Yes. Several Polish ticket apps sell ZTM fares, and you validate or show the ticket on your screen. You can also use the machines at stops and stations. The app needs a data connection to buy a ticket, though not to show it.

### Does the plan give me a Polish phone number?
No. These plans carry data only. Use apps such as WhatsApp or FaceTime for calls, and keep your home SIM active for SMS codes from your bank, with its data turned off.

### Will my plan work on a day trip to Lodz or Torun?
Yes. Both cities are in Poland and the Poland plan covers the whole country. A trip across the border to Germany or Lithuania is not covered by the Poland plan there.
